On November 6, 2020, join us across social media platforms for our second virtual teen night! Teens Take The Met! has been held at the Museum twice a year since 2014, and in the past, has brought together over thirty thousand young people for what has become one of the most dynamic events in New York City for teens. That excitement is only growing online!
Drop in (remotely) for teen-only activities including art making, performances, music, and more. Free and open to all teens thirteen through nineteen. Pre-registration encouraged.

Virtual Teens Take The Met! occurs Friday, November 6, 2020 from 3 p.m to 8 p.m. EST on Instagram, Zoom, and across social media. Join us on the @metteens Instagram account to easily access activities throughout the event. Follow along with our partners' social media platforms for art-making activities, performances, music, games, and more.
If you’re a teen (between the ages of thirteen and nineteen), join us on Zoom to create, connect, explore, and imagine with other teens in our VIP lounge! Pre-register here to receive reminders, Zoom links, and exclusive virtual content you can post on social media during the event.
All you need to participate is a device (tablet, phone, or computer) with internet access. From there, you can view Teens Take The Met! content by opening your web browser, visiting https://www.instagram.com/metteens/, and clicking on the link in bio. If you have Instagram, follow @metteens and check out the link in bio (which you can also find by clicking here) to find our activities and our partner organization’s programs on Instagram, Zoom, Twitch, Discord, YouTube, Kahoot, Vimeo, and Facebook. We also encourage you to gather the following materials so you can leap into the virtual programming throughout the day. If you don’t have all these materials, don’t worry! Substitute with whatever you have at home.
Please note: Teens and adults alike can view and engage with the virtual content, but only teens between the ages of thirteen and nineteen will receive access to the Zoom sessions. Teens Take The Met! is a virtual teen night co-organized with our community partners. The event includes art making prompts and inspiration, trivia, performances, workshops, and more. There’s something for everyone!
Highlights include making bucket hats with Lewis Latimer House; Self Care Collaging with the Queens Museum; Artivism Poster Making with El Museo del Barrio; Leveling up your Zines with the New York Public Library; Poetry Writing from Urban Word NYC; exploring the science of flight with the Intrepid Museum; and a variety of art making activities from the Met including Lantern and Origami DIY, a fun and exciting ‘Teens Meme The Met’ activity, and so many more from The Met and others! There will also be a Zoom party featuring Building Beats, and you can access a Teens Take The Met! playlist on Spotify.
3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Hang out in the Met Teens Zoom VIP Lounge and listen to live music featuring DJ’s from Building Beats.
