The Supreme Court of Ohio has results from the February 2024 Ohio Bar Examination.
A total of 370 aspiring attorneys took the exam, and 182 – or 49% – passed.
Of the test takers, 153 sat for the first time with 97 passing, a pass rate of 63%.
The applicants represent 51 Ohio counties and 15 states.
Those who meet all requirements will be sworn in as attorneys during a special session of the Supreme Court at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 6 at the Palace Theatre in Columbus.
Following the ceremony, new attorneys and their guests are invited to the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center. The Ohio State Bar Association will host a reception in the Grand Concourse, including food, complimentary headshots, and photos inside the Courtroom in front of the bench.
The Supreme Court Office of Attorney Services will also be available with information on attorney registration, New Lawyer Training, and the Supreme Court Lawyer to Lawyer Mentoring Program.
The bar exam is administered twice a year by the Court, which regulates the practice of law in Ohio, including the admission of new attorneys, the biennial registration of current attorneys, attorney discipline in cases of misconduct, and the administration of continuing legal education.
