The California Department of Education (CDE) released test score results from the 2023 Smarter Balanced assessments of math and English language arts on Oct. 18th for tests taken by students in the spring of 2023. Read EdSource’s coverage of the results. The tests form part of the state's California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, or CAASPP. Student scores are categorized in four achievement levels that indicate whether a student has exceeded, met, nearly met, or did not meet the standards, in grades 3-8 and 11.
View statewide results and results for the state’s nearly 1,000 school districts and 10,000 schools. To go right to a school, enter the name in the search box below. To see districts only, uncheck the blue “schools” box to the right of the search field.
Search for a school district to see all the schools within that district. Click on the name of the school, district or county office of education to get its detailed test results, including charts showing change over the past five years and achievement gaps among racial and ethnic student groups. Note: charter schools are listed individually. Aggregate scores for Charter Management Organizations are not available.
Click on each column header to sort test results (from lowest to highest or highest to lowest). Asterisks are shown if there were no aggregate scores reported by the CDE because 10 or fewer students took the test. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us at edsource@edsource.org.
