The Fortnite x Metallica band crossover brought a new set of quests that you can complete to earn tons of XP. One of these quests requires you to listen to coastal rumors and it rewards you with a whopping 15,000 XP upon completion.
Since it’s one of the secret challenges, many players are having a hard time finishing it. With that said, we’ll walk you through all the essential steps to complete the Fortnite listen to coastal rumors quest.

To complete listen to coastal rumors quest, you’ll need to talk with the following NPCs in the game:
The Riot NPC spawns at Slumberyard, right next to the Classy Courts POI in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 island. At the same time, Chiara and Brite Raider can be found at Grand Glacier and on a tiny bit of land southwest of Redline Rig, respectively.
Once you locate these NPCs, select the ‘ask about’ button from the list of chat options and choose Coastal Rumors. The characters will have a short conversation with you regarding it.
If you’re a Fortnite fan, you can read the entire conversation; otherwise, spam the enter button to wrap up things quickly.
Once you speak with all three NPCs, the secret listen to coastal rumors quest will be marked as completed and you’ll receive 15,000 XP for your efforts. We strongly recommend completing this challenge, especially if you have purchased this season’s battle pass.
