The 2024 ACC Softball Tournament is heading to the Bull City for the first time, where reigning back-to-back champion Florida State looks to defend its crown.
But to do that, the Seminoles will have to take down No. 1 seed Duke.
With the Blue Devils winning their last five games — and Florida State dropping two of three in its weekend series to No. 8 seed Syracuse — Duke was crowned the regular season champion for the first time in program history. Headlined by hitters Claire Davidson, Aminah Vega and Kelly Torres and pitchers Jala Wright, Cassidy Curd and Lillie Walker, Duke now looks for its second ACC Softball Tournament title in program history.

Florida State is the No. 2 seed and is coming off Sunday’s 13-5 loss to Syracuse in five innings. While the Seminoles and Blue Devils are the favorites to go on a title run and win the conference title, the likes of Virginia Tech, Clemson and Virginia could make runs themselves at the ACC’s automatic bid to the Women’s College World Series.
Games start on Wednesday at Duke Softball Stadium and will run through the championship game on Saturday, with the Selection Sunday show coming a day later. With the field for the ACC Softball Tournament consisting of only 10 teams, Louisville (8-16), NC State (6-18) and Pitts (6-18) all missed the cut.
