Wordle 802 2/6*
🟩⬜🟨⬜⬜ ALONG
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 AUDIO
An effortless deuce was all I needed to start the day right. I was lucky that I chose a word with O in the center to re-place for my second guess, and I’m happy that it all worked out. Many words that start with A have O in the center, like ADOBE, AGONY, AXIOM and AVOID. The only words I can think of that might have been good guesses besides AUDIO are ARMOR and ARDOR, both of which I’m hesitant to guess because of the double letter. If AUDIO hadn’t been the winning word, at least it allowed me to knock out a couple of vowels.
I’m not sure what I did to deserve this win. To structure my review today, I did a quick scan through the comments of past reviews to get a sense of how people talk about their deuces — or solves in two, if you’re less familiar with Wordle Review parlance. That took a decent amount of searching. I couldn’t easily find solvers who found BROOK, BULLY or ANODE in two guesses, so I had to search farther afield: POLYP. In my estimation, that’s one of the hardest words of August so far, but some of our commenters got lucky. One commenter, JoanK, joked about her good fortune: “Time to play the lottery.”
