Posted by The NCAA softball tournament is underway, and the 16 teams remaining have their eyes set on a trip to Oklahoma City. Plenty of them already know what it takes to get there.
Every year, eight teams advance to the College World Series. Of the eight teams from 2023, six are still fighting for a spot in this year’s field, including reigning national champion Oklahoma and runner-up Florida State.
The No. 1 team in the nation is still alive but is not among those teams. Texas missed the 2023 edition of the tournament after falling to No. 4 Tennessee in the Knoxville Super Regional. This year, the Longhorns are looking to punctuate their statement season with a trip to the College World Series in pursuit of the program’s first national championship.
