We already knew that Behaviour Interactive tapped Until Dawn and The Quarry developer Supermassive Games to create a new narrative-centric horror game set in the Dead by Daylight universe. And we don’t have to wait too long for it, as Behaviour has confirmed The Casting of Frank Stone comes out on September 3, 2024.
In a new blog post detailing the new playable character Lara Croft and the highly-requested 2v8 mode, Behaviour quietly revealed the release date for its upcoming Dead by Daylight spinoff. Alongside a release date, we also got a new trailer for The Casting of Frank Stone. The trailer is mostly a spin on classic horror flicks from yesteryear and provides the names of the playable characters.
As previously revealed, The Casting of Frank Stone’s story will focus on friends and aspiring filmmakers looking to make a horror movie in an abandoned steel mill. However, they soon realize they are living in a real slash-style horror movie as they fight to survive. As with previous games developed by Supermassive, The Casting of Frank Stone will have you play as multiple characters whose fates are determined based on your choices.
Behaviour initially announced last year that Supermassive was working on a story-based Dead by Daylight spinoff, but fans had to wait until the 2023 Game Awards in December for a proper reveal. The Casting of Frank Stone is the third Dead by Daylight spinoff, following the 2022 dating sim Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim and What the Fog, the co-op roguelike game released last May. Additionally, Behaviour is working on a new untitled Dead by Daylight spinoff known under its codename Project T.
