Pantheon – Destiny 2 Guide

The Pantheon Basics, Bosses, and Rewards

The Pantheon is a raid boss gauntlet, meaning that once you fire up this activity, you’ll face off against a series of raid bosses back-to-back. When the activity went live on April 30, it began at a power level cap of -5 with four enemies. Each week until May 21, another boss will be added to The Pantheon and the active power level cap will be reduced by another 5. At that point, the activity will have eight bosses with a cap of -20 Light. Along with the rest of the Into the Light content, The Pantheon will be removed from the game on June 3 leading up to the launch of The Final Shape.

Here’s a rundown of the eight boss fights and the raids they appear in:

  1. Golgoroth (King’s Fall)
  2. The Caretaker (Vow of the Disciple)
  3. Macrocosm (Root of Nightmares)
  4. Atraks-1 (Deep Stone Crypt)
  5. Oryx (King’s Fall)
  6. Rhulk (Vow of the Disciple)
  7. Riven (Last Wish)
  8. Nezarec (Root of Nightmares)

For the most part, each of these encounters resemble the original with a few new mechanics mixed in for some extra challenge.

Like Nightfall and some other activities, The Pantheon has active modifiers and scoring. There’s also a bonus timer that, when active, grants extra points for doing basic things like defeating enemies or collecting Orbs of Power. Completing each fight before that timer runs own also leads to more points. Rewards are given out at the end of each confrontation (three pieces of armor and/or weapons), and a Platinum score means even more rewards.

Along with Spoils of Conquest and Trophies of Bravery, you can also earn armor and weapons from all of the raids featured. All weapons have a high chance of dropping with Deepsight Resonance so that you can extract a piece of the weapon pattern. And because it’s all raid-tier, the armor often drops with high overall stats. Furthermore, it’s easier than ever to acquire Adept versions of the weapons since you’ll get one if you beat a boss during the Bonus Timer phase (up to one per week).

Some triumphs — which all involve getting a high score against specific bosses in The Pantheon — grant the following weapons outright:

  • Smite of Merain (Harrowed)
  • Qullim’s Terminus (Harrowed)
  • Insidious (Adept)
  • Acasia’s Dejection (Adept)
  • Zaouli’s Bane (Harrowed)
  • Rufus’s Fury (Adept)

Divine Weaponry Quest

As soon as you load Destiny 2, you’ll get a pop-up notification about The Pantheon and the Atraks Sovereign fight from the Deep Stone Crypt raid. This notification also confirms that this activity is part of Shaxx’s training regimen for the Guardian, encouraging you to visit him in the Hall of Champions.
