Boothill is a powerful 5-star character of the Hunt Path who deals physical damage in Honkai Star Rail.
His unique ability to inflict physical weakness on an enemy makes him a great choice for taking down bosses.
However, Boothill’s full potential on the battlefield can only be unlocked with the right set of teammates.
As such, in this comprehensive ONE Esports guide, we explain the best Boothill team compositions in HSR.
Here’s the best Boothill team in Honkai Star Rail
The best Boothill team would be a break damage-focused team since Boothill’s overall damage scales off this attribute. Hence, the more break damage he has, the more damage he can deal to an enemy.
For Boothill’s break-effect team, we recommend going with the following characters:
- Ruan Mei (Buff/Support)
- Bronya/Sparkle (Buff/Support)
- Gallagher (Healer/Support)
- Boothill (DPS)
Ruan Mei synergizes with Boothill in two ways. Firstly, her skill can boost damage and break efficiency, allowing Boothill to deal more break damage.
Next, her ultimate can raise RES PEN, allowing him to deal more physical-element damage to the enemy.
Bronya or Sparkle is the most vital member of this Boothill team composition. Both can fast-forward action or give an additional turn to Boothill, allowing him to deal more damage to the enemy.
Furthermore, they can boost his attack, damage, and critical damage.
Since Boothill’s enhanced basic attack doesn’t regenerate skill points, Sparkle would be a better option as she can provide those additional skill points with her skill and ultimate.
While in the standoff state, Boothill can deal and take additional damage, so you need a healer like Gallagher to support him.
What’s great about Gallagher is that his talent increases the break damage received by enemies.
So every time Boothill attacks a target, not only will he deal additional break damage, but he will heal at the same time.
Best Boothill super break team in Honkai Star Rail
If the aforementioned break team is not enough, you can also build a super break team by replacing Bronya or Sparkle with Harmony Trailblazer. Such a Boothill team would look like this:
- Ruan Mei (Buffer/Support)
- Harmony Trailerblazer (Buffer/Support)
- Gallagher (Healer/Support)
- Boothill (DPS)
Like before, Gallagher can heal Boothill and apply the debuff that allows enemies to take more break damage, while Ruan Mei can increase attack and break efficiency for all characters.
Harmony Trailerblazer’s ultimate can boost break effect and inflict super break damage on enemies.
Boothill benefits from them all, in addition to his own damage boost that he gets in the standoff state, and can quickly break the enemy’s shield, thanks to the buffs he receives from Gallagher and his own talent.
He can deal massive break damage upon breaking the enemy’s shied because of Ruan Mei, and an additional instance of break damage with super break, courtesy of the Harmony Trailblazer.
This Boothill super break team should allow you to clear most high-end activities, especially boss encounters.
Best free-to-play Boothill team in Honkai Star Rail
You can build a decent free-to-play Boothill team that complements his kit. For this team, we recommend going with the following characters:
- Trailblazer Harmony (Buffer/Support)
- Asta (Technician/Support)
- Natasha (Healer/Support)
- Boothill (DPS)
The new Trailblazer Harmony character is the ace player of this team. Their ultimate ability increases break efficiency for Boothill and other party members, and also allows them to deal super break damage.
If you didn’t know, super break damage is a new damage type introduced in HSR with Harmony Trailblazer. Simply put, this allows characters to deal bonus break damage after breaking an enemy’s weakness (shield).
Moreover, the fewer enemies there are, the more super break damage is dealt. Boothill benefits from this exceptionally well, especially in battles with an elite or a boss.
Thanks to Pocket Trickshot, Boothill can break enemy’s shields rather quickly, and with boosted break efficiency and super break, he can deal an insane amount of damage.
Asta can boost Boothill’s attack, but most importantly, can increase his SPD with her ultimate, enabling his turn to come more often.
While Natasha doesn’t provide any buffs, she can heal and remove debuffs from Boothill, which can be incredibly helpful in precarious situations.
