Wordle 710 4/6
⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨 SOARE
⬜⬜🟨🟩⬜ FINED
⬜⬜🟩🟩🟨 QUEEN
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 KNEEL
Another day, another Wordle where I guess a word with a QU combination, believing myself to be so brilliant, only to watch the game pull the rug out from under me. At some point in the future, when QUEEN is the winning word, I’ll get the flowers I deserve. Or should I say FLORA?
I guessed SOARE because it was mentioned in an earlier Wordle Review and because of its supposed superiority as an opening guess. The word didn’t help me out much today, and with my second guess, I seemed to have forgotten the rule that plural nouns and verb forms in which a D or an ED is added to a three- or four-letter word are not on the answer list. The ensuing certainty I had that N and E were in the winning word gave me options, and as I guessed QUEEN I braced myself for a three-fer. No such luck. The Wordle gods responded by letting me know that I should always KNEEL before their prowess.
Today’s word is KNEEL, a verb. According to Webster’s New World College Dictionary, it means to rest on one’s knees.
Today’s word is moderately challenging because of uncertainty.
The word has a common letter pattern with five or six possible answers. Getting the word in six guesses requires strategic choices at every attempt.
