Texas Tech overtook Arkansas to win the team championships with 50.5 points. Arkansas and Florida followed with 41 and 39 points respectively.ย

Texas’ Leo Neugebauer won the men’s heptathlon with a score of 6,347 points. That’s the fourth-highest point total in collegiate history after Neugebauer finished first in the shot put and second in three more events. Click or tap here for complete heptathlon scores.
Arkansas’ Rachel Glenn won the women’s high jump, her second NCAA title and first since the 2021 outdoor season when she was at South Carolina. Glenn tied the collegiate record with a first attempt clearance of 2.00 meters, defeating her fellow collegiate record holder Lamara Distin of Texas A&M in the process. The men’s heptathlon concludes today with its final three events. At the conclusion of all seven events, a total point score will be calculated and a winner decided. Entering the second day of competition, Texas’ Leo Neugebauer leads the competition withย 3664 points. See the full schedule for Saturday below:

Houston’s Grant Levesque set a collegiate record for the highest pole vault in a heptathlon at 5.46 meters.

He has moved up from 12th to start the day to fourth after winning the 60 meter hurdles and the pole vault, bringing his individual heptathlon win total to three after he opened with a win in the 60 meters.
Just one event remains in the heptathlon and the top of the standings are beginning to take shape. Texas’ Leo Neugebauer remains atop the leaderboard by 123 points, scoring 5544 points through six events.ย 
The final event is the 1000 meters at 3:30 p.m. Keep an eye out as the collegiate record in the heptathlon isย ย ย  ย 6,639 points.
The 2024 Division I indoor track and field championships conclude Saturday, March 9 from The Track at New Balance in Boston, MA. Both men and women take the track today with final action on the schedule.ย 
Action kicks off with the combined events at 10:30 am ET, with the men taking the track at 4 p.m. ET before the women take the track at 7 p.m. ET. You can watch the championships on ESPN+.
Champions will be crowned today in every individual event and team champions too.

Florida’s Parker Valby broke the NCAA record in the women’s 5000m โ€” which she previously set earlier this year โ€” with a time of 14:52.79. She also broke a meet, facility and personal record with her championship time.

Florida leads the competition field with 24 points after the first six events went final through Day 2 of the 2024 NCAA track and field championships. With 11 events closing the meet Saturday โ€” including most of the events on the track โ€” the 2024 championships are wide open.

BYU took home the distance medley relay (DMR) title in the Day 2 nightcap of the NCAA D1 indoor championship. The Cougars overtook Notre Dame in the final leg to win with a time of 10:51.42. Check out the full results here.
Florida juniorย Parker Valby bested her own NCAA women’s 5k record she set this past December with a time of 14:52.79. Her new record won her the indoor title. She cruised to victory by almost 23 seconds. Check out the full results here.
Iowa State’s Sydney Willits took home the women’s long jump championship. Her distance of 6.74m edged out Florida’s Claire Bryant, who finished with a distance of 6.71m. Check out the full results here.
Washington won its first individual NCAA track and field title since 2012 after freshman Hana Moll won the women’s pole vault championship. Her 4.60m height beat out Charlotte senior Riley Felts by 0.1m. This is the Huskies’ first pole vault title since 2005. Check out every score here.
The 2024 Division I indoor track and field championships continue as the women took the track at 7 p.m.
