College 3-Point Contest results, highlights: Keisei Tominaga, Sara Scalia capture shooting titles – Sporting News

Fans desperate for college hoops ahead of the Final Four can tune into a handful of college basketball’s All-Star weekend-like activities
One of which will be the 3-point contest featuring Oakland’s Jack Gohlke and Nebraska’s Keisei Tominaga. The annual challenge brings together some of the nation’s best shooters from blue bloods to mid-majors.
College hoops will also have a dunk contest and a women’s 3-point contest during the same event.

11:17 p.m. ET – Scalia posts a 16 in her shootout with Tominaga, who is up next.
10:51 p.m. ET – Frank finishes strong to post 18 in the final round, but Scalia tops her with 19, giving the Big Ten its second 3-point champion of the night.
10:42 p.m. ET – There’s a three-way tie at 17 between Frank, Dyaisha Fair and Sara Scalia in the second round. The first tie-breaker is shots made. The second tiebreaker is best overall rack. Unfortunately, that means Fair won’t advance to the final round.
10:35 p.m. ET – Mizzou’s Hayley Frank dominates the first round of the women’s contest with 23 despite waiting for over an hour to shoot.
10:17 p.m. ET – Thomas regresses to 17 in the finals, and Tominaga beats him out with a 19! That was fun. 
10:11 p.m. ET – Tominaga at the buzzer again! This time, to advance to the finals.

10:08 p.m. ET – Hofstra’s Tyler Thomas tore up the second round, posting a 26 with a brilliant performance.
10:01 p.m. ET – Jack Gohlke gets hot late, but it’s not enough to overcome a rough start and advance. Keisei Tominaga, Jamison Battle, Tyler Thomas, and Boo Buie (tiebreaker) advance, with Tominaga leading the pack.
9:55 p.m. ET – Tominaga waited for the buzzer! Ice cold.

The men’s and women’s 3-point contests feature eight participants each. A champion will be crowned in the Hanes men’s 3-point championship and the Hanes women’s 3-point championship.
The winner of those titles will face off in the Skechers Battle of the Champions for the overall championship.
The NCAA’s All-Star festivities are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 4. The event will take place at the Global Credit Union Arena located on Grand Canyon University’s campus.
